Facebook’s Founder and one of the world’s billionaires, Mark Zuckerberg is currently in Nigeria!

The tech entrepreneur is currently at Co-Creation Hub (CcHub) in Yaba.

The 32-year-old billionaire’s visit was unannounced.

There’s been a lot of Facebook-related development in Nigeria so there’s a ton of reasons why Mark may be visiting. First, Free Basicslaunched in Nigeria and Mark showed his support for the Jobbermanteam. Then the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative invested $24 million inAndela. Also, Facebook’s developer workshop is happening tomorrow, and Facebook is partnering with Cool Link to launchExpress Wifi in Lagos some time this week.

Three years validity for UTME

IF the bill for an Act to Amend the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Act and for Other Matters Connected Thereof, 2016 is passed into law by the Senate and given assent by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will henceforth enjoy a validity period of three years as against its present one year. Under the proposed law, candidates with old results will be given preference over new UTME candidates in subsequent admission processes by the tertiary institutions.  The proposed extension of UTME’s validity period has been greeted with criticisms in many quarters, forcing the Senate to suspend its earlier approval of the amendment.
